Specializing in Mathematics for High School and College Students

Promise Learning LLC

In 2010, Carol Maple left her engineering position with a major switchgear manufacturer to become a school bus driver so she could spend more time with her five children. Although the benefits greatly outweighed the reduction in pay, it became necessary for Carol to supplement her income. She signed up with an online tutoring referral company and began tutoring students and adults in a wide variety of subjects. After three years of driving school bus, Carol decided to tutor full-time in response to the need for qualified in-home tutors.

In 2013, Promise Learning was born to provide in-home tutoring to students of all ages in the five counties of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Over the years, we have partnered with local high schools (North Springs Charter High School, Milton High School, and Northview High School) to provide free tutoring during and after school to students in math and science. We also conduct workshops for parents and students through local non-profit organizations including public and private schools, faith-based organizations, college alumni clubs, fraternities and sororities, and any other organizations willing to provide the space. While we are now focusing our efforts in the subjects of mathematics and physics for high school and college students, we are committed to helping all students by providing guidance in finding resources to help students navigate their educational journey.

Our Mission

At Promise Learning, we are passionate about working ourselves out of a job by Creating Lifelong Learners One Student at a Time.

Our Beliefs

It is a teacher’s job to teach. It is a student’s job to learn. Regardless of the effectiveness, most teachers are delivering the material that students are required to learn. Because learning is not being achieved properly, it is the community’s responsibility to provide resources to facilitate the process. We have accepted our responsibility to not only help students with their homework and test preparation, but also to develop the individuals who will lead us in the future.

By living the four tenets below, it is our hope that our students’ enthusiasm will become contagious among their peers so that all students will accept accountability for their education, learning will be the priority in America, and our students will be able to compete with their global counterparts. We strive to help every student graduate from high school, trade school, or college and go on to be a productive member of society.

CLARITY

Clarity is the ability to communicate with and be understood by people. There are enough things around us to complicate our lives. We do not have to extend that to our education. At Promise Learning, we strive to keep things as simple as possible so that we can help students improve themselves and their grades.

ALIGNMENT

Alignment is the process in which people submit to the same overarching goal. There are many times in life when we just do not want to do what it takes to reach our goals. But when we push forward, we find that the struggle is more than worth the end result. At Promise Learning, we help students see the goal and guide them to it.

MOVEMENT

Movement involves the steps that cause people to move to greater areas of understanding. No matter how challenging a task may seem, it can always be broken down into manageable steps to accomplish it. At Promise Learning, we take the time and make the effort to ensure that we move students to understanding . . . one step at a time.

FOCUS

Focus is the commitment to stay on task while achieving the overall goal. It is generally believed that anything worth having is worth working for. In most cases, focus is the key to the success of any endeavor. At Promise Learning, we make sure that students stay on task and work to meet the educational goals they have set.
